OT New Do Not Call List Registration Link Stops Telemarketers

I registered my Non-Published mom , as she still gets a daily Sequential-Dialing Telemarketer ( and does not like it ) http://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx I did Not register my own non-pub number , as I like my Ringer checked , and the local phone company quit that service years ago ! tim

The do not call list has not went into affect yet – I believe it will be the first of September or there abouts..

And if things follow how it went in Indiana, everyone will get five or six more calls before a few prosecutions make them wise up.

For over two years I have been politely asking every telemarketer and charity that calls to add us to their do not call list. We probably don’t get more than one call per month now. However, since the nation’s first Presidential caucus is held here in Iowa now we are being bothered by calls from campaigners wanting our support. Hell, I even got to talk to the son of one of the candidates the other day. I talked to him just long enough to tell him it is way too soon to make a decision and I wish they would all leave Iowa until after Thanksgiving. Here the campaign lasts from eighteen months to two years. Who’d uh thunk it? — Chuck -
