Hey Kent, Pretty nice collection to surf through… I was kind of shocked. Usually I go through a site like that saying; I had one of those, and that one, and that one… At the top of the page, the only one I saw that I’d had was an early 60’s Jaguar. Then wayyyyy down the page I finally saw a Gibson EB-0… then further yet down… OMG!!! He’s got a Hoyer arch top like mine!!! (You don’t see those every day.) Didn’t notice a single amp that I’d owned before though. The best thing is; his collection didn’t make me miss anything that I’d parted with… because I’ve still got them all!!! ;=] John King http://www.angelfire.com/blues/rockinjohn/rockinguitars.html

Yeah, it’s toward the bottom of my guitar page: http://www.angelfire.com/blues/rockinjohn/rockinguitars.html Kind of a quirky guitar, but taken within the context of its genre, it is quite fantastic. Definitely a keeper! > Didn’t notice a single amp that I’d owned before though. > I’ve got one of them, the Vox AC50. (It’s in having it’s first checkup in > 38 years. So far, there’s been very little found wrong with it. Not bad, > eh?) > ~kp
The only Vox amps I’ve ever had are a couple of the SS Thomas Organ models. The Pacemaker that I got from an old man I know is 35+ and never had a service. Sounds good to me, but I credit the gold Bulldog speaker with that. Not bad considering that they are supposed to be the least reliable of the Vox amps ;=]. Lots of folks think the old SS Vox were crap. Maybe, but I still think they were far better crap than everyone else’s early 60’s attempts at SS guitar amps. Look at the miserable failures Fender, Gibson, et al… came out with at that time. Pitiful by comparison. I’d like to have one of the Thomas Organ, Cambridge Reverb models. A SS version passed through my hands recently, and it was OK, but the all tube model is what I want. They’re going for good money, but still a bargain compared to what the "real" vintage Vox amps go for. John King
