Response:
Geez, quit taking this so personally! I mean, you post something on a newsgroup where people discuss particular dog breeds, and your "ad" is going to get discussed. Deal with it. If you don’t want objections and you don’t want to hear people voice their concerns about a possible irresponsible breeder, then you probably should have posted elsewhere. Sorry if you get bent out of shape, but hey, it’s the truth. Angel

The fact that the owner doesn’t have an internet connection caused you to spell the name wrong? Jeez, I thought I’d seen some excuses around here over the years but…. Look. I’ll be nice. I’ll ignore your multiple spelling and grammar errors. But if, as you say in another of your attempts at ass- covering, you do know something about the internet, you’d've grasped that instead of saying to your friend, "hey, I’ll advertise your dogs in a forum whose standards I know absolutely *nothing* about," you should’ve looked into the newsgroup even one time first. You would’ve found the charter for this newsgroup. You would’ve found Mark’s weekly message to first-time posters. You would’ve found numerous threads in which people advertising their litters were asked for the same kind of health and pedigree information you were asked for. Oh, and you would’ve found other spelling mistakes flamed as well. All in the last day or so before you posted. Even the lamest news server should’ve still had posts that recent on hand. So don’t try to pull off the self-righteous act now. Either you can’t come up with the information you’ve been asked for, in which case you should crawl back into whatever hole you came out of, or these really are decently bred pups, in which case you’ve done a terrible disservice to your friend and his reputation as a breeder. > Apologys will be accepted.
Yes, I suppose they might. So go ahead, apologize to your friend. — Amy Hendrix – Durham, NC "Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple, learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen." - John Steinbeck

It’s not, actually. Usenet is an application and IP is one transport used by usenet. There are still uucp-based usenet feeds around. NNTP wasn’t widely used until the mid-to-late 1980s. — If you send me harassing email, I’ll probably post it

A simple telephone call would answer your questions, but I suppose its much easier to have a go at someone through a newsgroup isnt it.
Response:
I think you need to get yourself a life and stop picking up on other people’s grammar mistakes. Is it really such a big deal if I spelled the name of the dog breed wrong? The World Wide Web, E-mail, Newsgroups etc are all part of the Internet (a subject which I do know something about).
Response:
I gather you’re very pleased with me then, now i have given you something to discuss.
Response:
I tell the truth that these are not my dogs. I love dogs, I know nothing about Pedigree, Kennel Clubs or anything, as I said It was just something a friend asked me to do. I have three dogs myself, they are all Mongrels and very much loved and well cared for. I find it extremly insulting for you to suggest that I would have any part of uncaring dealings with animals. These pups belong to someone I know and have much respect for and I would never have any part of this if I didnt know they were very well cared for. I would never buy a purposely bred dog myself and I never have as there is too many homeless dogs already. Anyhow, I know you’ll respond with another extremely intelligent answer (in your mind), but that’s all I’m saying on this subject cause I think your taking this way too far.
Response:
>To all the people who responded to my original message about the >Bullmasstif’s, >sorry, Bullmastiff.
Very good. You’ve learned something today then… >Firstly, the pups are 3 weeks old but are not ready to go for another 5 weeks >and anyone with more than one brain cell should know this.
Well of course _we_ know that. What wasn’t clear was whether _you_ knew that. >Secondly, I am not a dog breeder, these are not my dogs.
And this isn’t a pups-4-bucks board, it is a discussion forum. Expect your puppy peddling posts to be discussed. And _of course_ they aren’t your dogs, they never are…. >I am just advertising >for the owner whom does not have a connection to the internet which explains >why I spelled the breed name wrong.
One doesn’t need an online connection in order to place well bred puppies. Good breeders don’t have to advertise online hoping for a sale. Why do you, um, "your friend" need to peddle pups here? Aren’t your/"their" real life connections in the breed enough to place their pups by word of mouth? Why not advertise in breed publications? The fact that "your friend" would ask you to peddle their pups for them speaks volumes about their level of experience and responsibility. > But all I can say about that is "god help >me if I did anything seriously wrong, you lot would have me hung".
No, but we would discuss it, this being a discussion forum and all. If you don’t want to be part of a discussion, don’t post. >I know that they are Kennel Club registered (whatever that means) and so are >the parents.
Kennel Club registered means that they are supposedly purebred. Without titles and health clearances, however, such a registration is just a birth certificate and is no indication of quality. >Apologys will be accepted.
The only apology that needs to be made here is perhaps to the Bullmastiff rescue group in your area. Unless, of course, you’d like to apologize for spamming a discussion group in an attempt to peddle puppies. Robin

1) that should be "who," not "whom" 2) whether or not someone else has internet access usually has no bearing on whether or not someone else can spell "mastiff." 3) this is not the internet You’re very, very welcome. — If you send me harassing email, I’ll probably post it

> Big deal……get a life and stop spell checking people to validate your own > lack of self worth. > Are you saying only people with perfect english and grammar can breed
dogs? Oh, for goodness sake…it`s not about having perfect grammar generally speaking! If you don`t even know how your own breed`s breedname is spelled, than you`re not exactly a responsible breeder. Surtenly not one I`d ever consider bying a puppy from! The very least any _dog owner_ not to mention a breeder, should know is that. That so many don`s is just another example of their lack of real interest in the breed, and therefor lack of etics. But that`s just my opinion, Anita – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Friggin elitists…….sheeeesh!!!!! > > 3 x Brindle Bullmasstif Pups For Sale. > Obviously a responsible breeder. *snorts* Can’t even spell the breed > name. *shakes head* > — > http://zuzubabies.com/members/td

To all the people who responded to my original message about the Bullmasstif’s, sorry, Bullmastiff. Firstly, the pups are 3 weeks old but are not ready to go for another 5 weeks and anyone with more than one brain cell should know this. Secondly, I am not a dog breeder, these are not my dogs. I am just advertising for the owner whom does not have a connection to the internet which explains why I spelled the breed name wrong. But all I can say about that is "god help me if I did anything seriously wrong, you lot would have me hung". I know that they are Kennel Club registered (whatever that means) and so are the parents. So you are all blowing a load of hot air for nothing. That’s all I know so if you want more info just call the number and ask the breeder (Martin (01946) 67417). Apologys will be accepted.

Yes. Ann, Twzl, Sligo and Roy — Its up to your government to streamline the same laws to all states. Its hardly surprising so much abuse happens when there is no uniformity.<Patch>

Well, the OP is in the UK, where the national registry is called… "The Kennel Club." Yes, as if it were the only one. Go figure. (See http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/) However, the Kennel Club does not register "Bullmasstifs". Dianne

‘Fraid you can’t blame the founders for not knowing when they created it that some time in the future there would be other similar organisations all over the world that would copy their name. The KC is what many of the other clubs are based on, even down to publishing their own version of the KC’s ‘Kennel Gazette’. – ANDREA — Get PAID for the emails you already send and receive! Yeah, those big ones start eating you out of house and home early on… move em on out!! >All Bitches
Wow! More "breeders" for irresponsible owners! >Full Pedigree
All dogs have a pedigree, it’s what in the pedigree that counts. How many titles and health clearances in the first three generations? _That_ is what will matter to an educated buyer. Of course, it’s doubtful that any knowledgeable person would ever buy a puppy from someone who has such limited knowledge that they didn’t even realize they could copy the breed name off of the reg certificate instead of just taking a best guess….
