What they mean is that they "know quality when they see it"–and avoid it like the plague. avrama

Fraid so Avrama. Strangely enough I received three emails over the weekend about this kennel from concerned Dane owners. The first one from someone in their area who had noticed that there was a great increase in the Dane population there – and looked into it. Such a pity. Liz – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text –

Someone sent this to the Great Dane list today and I copy it here for readers of this newsgroup…. Go to http://www.fly.to/danes Those of us who knock ourselves out in rescue and/or educting those wanting to buy a puppy will no doubt find this site more than interesting. There are some special sections poo-pooing those of us who show dogs to judge that our stock is indeed worthy of even being bred. Always interesting that those who belittle the people who show, usually have animals of type and quality who would not be able to compete well if shown. Obviously very apparent here. An interesting section of how they judge the health of the stock they offer. They apparently have a vet who can tell just by looking. They say nothing of any genetic testing being done on any of their stock. They also state that their puppies are raised in the house and never outside or on concrete etc. but show a photo of many puppies – mostly lacking in colour and much too white to be desirable, in an obvious dog run with a dog house. They also admit to having produced "dozens and dozens" of puppies. I sure hope they were better quality than the ones I noted in their dog run. The further one reads this site the more it becomes obvious that while declaring several times that "they know quality when they see it", they have learned nothing in the years they profess to have been in the breed. This is an abject lesson in dog breeding to be sure. Liz
