Any recomendations for Lab breeders in the Central Wisconsin Area?

Question:

Well, dogs aren’t throw pillows and really shouldn’t be used to accessorize a house.  I suspect you’re just joshing, but I’ve been mistaken before.   >…We are thinking Black or Chocolate.

There’s a lot more to finding a suitable companion than color and location.  Are you highly active folk, or more the "twice around the block and we’re don" sort?  Do you expect this critter to be useful in some way, or merely decorative?  Have you owned a dog before?  Have you raised a puppy before? That may seem like a lot of questions, but I assure you that a good, caring, responsible breeder will be much more inquisitive.  At root, I guess what I’d like to know is whether you have enough previous experience with dogs to make a completely informed decision?  If you want a Lab because they’re sweet, outgoing dogs that will blend harmoniously with the decor, are you aware that Lab-hair will *become* the decor?  You know what an 80 lb dog looks like (and my Lab is 80 lbs, so I know they can get that big), and how strong a motivated dog that size can be? Too many people choose a pet for one or two preferred qualities and are surprised by the rest of the dog. (My favorite, "I didn’t know he’d get so BIG!" – said about a Saint Bernard.)  There’s likely to be a perfect dog out there for your family, but it wouldn’t hurt to write a bit about your expectations and experience just in case a Lab ain’t it. — Mary H. & the Ames National Zoo:  Raise a Fund ("Regis"); ANZ Sam-I-Am, CGC; ANZ Noah Doll, CGC; ANZ Babylon Ranger, CGC; ANZ MarmaDUKE felines, finches and a fish

You can probably find a black puppy in a local shelter, especially now that puppy season is coming up. ~Emily

I know that Fran Smith in MN is expecting a litter soon. Otherwise you can go to the AKC web page select search for breeder and select breed and state.  That will give you the parent club information (start there) and some regional all breed clubs.

Apologies if this post is inappropriate as I am new to the NG. Thanks Craig
