(She’s apparently neck-and-neck with a little Pit Bull about half her size for who will "destruct" the most. Yeah, jaw strength has a lot to do with it. But so does obsessive ball drive.) Response:

To be honest the best toy I had for one of the Danes was a 13" steel belted radial he found in a park one day and brought home (yes he carried it like a chew ring) and would throw it in the air to catch and bounce it off the garage wall for fun…. I have a small dog in comparison to a Neo – Jedda is a field spaniel x english springer and weighs around 21kg (40lbs?).  But she loves to chew!  I always have a supply of pigs ears, gummabones (the ones with the bumps), nylabones, rope chews, RMB’s etc for her to chew (BTW, Jedda has gorgeous teeth!).  Balls, I have discovered, are best left for just playing.  I have one of the squeaky balls that we use for fetch but she can’t have it when I’m not there because she’ll destroy it inside a couple of minutes!  The same goes for tennis balls.  I have found that large, plastic soccer size balls are quite good as she can chase them and jump on them but can’t bite them because they are big and quite slippery. You could also try the large size tennis balls.  Or maybe use a large kong instead. HTH, Michelle & Jedda (who has just destroyed yet another $13 gummabone – at least this one lasted a few weeks)

Believe it or not, many people with giant breeds buy bowliing balls for their dog to play with.  Also, those who have chetahs also find them useful, lol. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->Hi all, >All you giant dog breed owners out there, can you tell me where I can find a >ball big enough and solid enough for my Neo to play with? Response:

For my Pit Bulls I use heavy, solid rubber balls. I can’t remember the brand but they’re white with swirly colors all over them. The ones I buy are a little smaller than a softball. Dogs can chew tiny chunks of the rubber off eventually but they’re so small, even when my Pits chew them, that they pass very easily. Another toy I can recommend are Galileo bones from nylabone. They aren’t balls, but they’re strong and well suited for large, hard chewing dogs. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >Hi all, >All you giant dog breed owners out there, can you tell me where I can find a >ball big enough and solid enough for my Neo to play with?
