Dog in pain-dont know why

Question:

Anything that causes a dog to cry out in pain when touched can’t be ‘good’. I would consider whatEVER is causing her such pain and distress to be nothing short of an emergency. It could be anything from painful kidneys, (BAD) to a blockage in the intestines (WAY bad). Anyway you cut it this is an emergency so waste no time.

…….Pancreatitis is very painful.  If the dog already has a history of this disease you need to get to the vet.  Could be arthritis, especially in a dog this age and if you’re having a bout of cold weather, but I wouldn’t wait. buglady take out the dog before replying

Hopefully someone here can give me some advice about my dog. She is a 15 year old toy poodle and she has been in some type of pain since this morning. We noticed that whenever we go to pick her up she cries. The pain seems to be right behind her front legs on her ribs (not sure how to describe it, but how you would lift up a small dog).  We know for a fact that she has not fallen or suffered any type of injury. We thought perhaps it was a bad flare-up of arthritis, but it seems odd that it would happen overnight. I don’t remember this dog ever being in pain and she was perfectly find the day before. She also suffers from pancreatitis which we think is under control. If the pain is not gone by the morning, we will take her to see the vet, but in the meantime, does anyone have any advice/suggestions?? Plus, what treatment could they give this dog; as she has a very sensetive stomach??

Get her to an emergency vet if at all possible. — Rebecca Ore
