He very well could have something (like a blade of grass) caught up in his sinuses. We had a poodle dog that had this happen once. Maybe it’s a toothache.
Response:
This cat is in very bad shape. He may have a blockage. Please take him to anothe vet ASAP. << He has gone 3 weeks now with out food. Just drinking water. We have tried to give him food he just licks it. The vets here are very expensive. We hate that we can not take him for more care. We are trying to do this on our own. Does anybody have any ideas on how we can get food in to him? Thank you David >> I realize this cat isn’t yours and you didn’t ask for this responsibility and it is nice that you have been feeding him but he is now seriously ill. Can you not call the vet back and explain the situation, that it is not your cat, and see if he will work with you some? This cat very likely will not make it now but I am sure he is suffering and he should have an end to his pain one way or the other. Cats get very ill when they do not eat for this long so he now has that problem compounded with whatever the original issue was. This cat is suffering. Please help him with at least one more vet visit. If you liked your neighbor at all, you should do this for him. Three weeks without food, I do not see how the cat is alive. He needs to see a *different* vet. You can at least get a syringe and mush up wet food to force feed it (if that will even work now). Kitty is in a dire way. Karen
