Which dog suit the following description?
Question:
You might also want to include the Lhasa Apso. About 12 – 18 lbs, non shedding, however they do require grooming. We keep our Lhasa in a "puppy cut" to minimize grooming problems with the long hair. They also have a stubborn streak, but not as bad as other dogs I have seen. The ones I have encountered are very friendly and affectionate. Again, most small dogs are not that good with children. You also need to keep in mind that the majority of small dogs tend to bark more. I believe it is because they can not see what ever made the noise. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > Ok, I understand that the best dog is the one that loves you, and you can > love it back. With any breed you decide on you need to be sure to go to a responsible breeder, but especially with Lhasas. As a groomer I can tell you ALL about badly bred Lhasas. I have been bitten six times by Lhasas – all of these were from either pet shops or irresponsible breeders. BTW, I have know many a Lhasa to be upwards of 45 pounds and they were not fat. OH, you groom radioactive mutant lhasas! I dont have any of those that come in to my shop, but I have a few radioactive mutant yorkies. I have one yorkie that no kidding weighs 25 lbs and he’s not fat either. — Susan Shih Tzu Delites http://www.angelfire.com/ga/shihtzudelites/ Topknots & Tails Petgrooming "Dogs aren’t our whole life, they make our lives whole"…Roger Caras

I’m partial to Cocker Spaniels, that come from a responsible breeder. They can be great dogs to have around the house. Females get to be about 14 inches tall, and males about 15. They range in weight from 20-25. THey do shed but not excessivly if you keep them groomed. THey love to learn and are very fast learners. I grew up with cockers and loved them as a family pet, and I just purchased my own a few weeks back. It seems like you did some good research, why dont you now call some breeders in your area of these various breeds and see if you can visit with some of their dogs to get to know the breed up close and personal? One correction, shih tzu are generally smaller than bichons. And the stubborn quality is also in shih tzu, but they arent as stubborn as pekes or pugs, but still have a stubborn streak. — Susan Shih Tzu Delites http://www.angelfire.com/ga/shihtzudelites/ Topknots & Tails Petgrooming "Dogs aren’t our whole life, they make our lives whole"…Roger Caras

I will agree with susan and say go play with the differnt types of puppys or dogs and see what fits your personality the best. Each dog no matter what breed will be a little different. Its fun being able to pick out of a litter, you can watch them and see which one has the neatest attitude! Good Luck!
