Yep. There’s nothing quite like a really well marked Harlequin. Sadly "well marked" only comes along very occasionally for most of us. Liz

I’m interesting in all breeds, I’m trying to do a map of all the breeds in the world, now and in the past. Is an hard work, because breeds are hundreds. Ciao. AD

Looks like you’d want a copy of the World Atlas of Dog Breeds, available at www.dogwise.com . There’s a photo of a Harlekinpinscher in there. — Toni www.irish-wolfhounds.com Check the "Update on Steve" (it’s actually updated <g>)

I will look for it at the weekend and send you a pic. May I ask why you are interested in the breed? Oh and since you are adopting a Dane, would you like to join the Great Dane mailing List? Tons of folk from all over the world on there who have Danes and much help with problems etc. Liz
Response:

I saw a picture in a book once but I think it was a drawing. The dog looks like a small pincher but it is spotted like a dalmation. It was in a dog breed book but I forget which one. There were lots of breeds that most Americans are not familiar with. I tried to do a web search to find breeders or more info but I was not sucessful. It was a breed I wanted to find out when I was looking for a dog. I gave away the book or I could offer a little more info. If anyone finds out anything, please post it! Beth

Well I just realized I spelled pincher instead of pinscher….its a throw back form when I was little. My grandmother had a miniature "pincher"!

Yep. You probably have the same book as I – when I get around to copying the pic. And it "is" a Pinscher by the way – with an "s" <G> Just like Miniature Pinschers but with spots. I’ll get a pic for everyone tonight. Liz

As far as I know the only pictures have been pictures of paintings as no examples of the breed could be found to photo Nancy

Actually I do – it was sent to me via email by a cyberdobefriend. As I understand, the breed has been extinct for quite some time. If you’ll email me privately, I’ll try to find the file with pic and send to you. ****Nancy E.
