Travel Sick Yorkie
Question:
We have just dicovered that our new arrival,Yorkshire Terrier is chronically car-sick(four times in a 45minute journey!).He is 8months old.We intend to consult a vet ,meanwhile has any-one else had this problem with a dog and any suggested remedies please…Alan
Response:
I, too, had problems with my lab being car sick. Here are a few suggestions. 1. Start taking him out on very short car trips, then gradually increase. 2. Do not feed him just before the trip. 3. I found if I opened the window he was much better. 4. When going on a long trip, ask your vet to recommend something for his stomach. 5. Good luck Marie

You can also try ginger, even a ginger snap cookie if nothing else is available. It seems to settle them a little. If you’re into homeopathy, you can use Rescue Remedy or Calming Essence. Ruth Nichols
Response:
My pup stopped getting car sick after I started feeding her a slice of day-old bread before car trips. Worth a try
